Parking is available on main street as well as behind the church. You can find the large parking lot behind our building by turning on to Central Park Place, which is the road that goes in front of the Homer Elementary school.

If you have parked on main street, your closest enterance is through the big white doors on the front of our building. This will lead you directly into our sanctuary.

When parking in the lot behind the church, you have two options for entering the building.

  • On the right side of the back of our building, you will see a ramp leading to a gray door. When you enter this way there will be a hallway on your left. As you go down this hall way you will see a spot to hang your coat and pass by our boardroom and kitchen. When you get to our fellowship room you will see a white door on your right which leads into our sanctuary.
  • Also on the back of our building, you will see a some stairs that lead to a green door. This door enters into our kitchen. Once inside, you will go through the doorway on your right and then turn left towards our fellowship room. When in the fellowship room you will see a white door on your right which leads into our sanctuary.

In our sanctuary you are welcome to sit where ever you are comfortable. We have seating on the main floor of the sanctuary as well as in our balcony. Throughout worship any lyrics to hymns or words that the congregation speaks in unison will be shown on our tv screens that hang off the left and right sides of the balcony at the front of sanctuary. How would you describe your worship service?

Our Sunday morning service is typically approximately 1 hour long. It consists of sing hymns, hearing scripture, a children’s moment, prayer, a sermon, and special music from our choir or other talented musicians in our congregation. To get a better sense of what worshiping with us might be like you can check out recordings of previous worship services by going to our YouTube channel or by finding us on Facebook.

Are children welcome in worship?

Absolutely! Children of all ages are welcome in the sanctuary during worship. We even have a special children’s moment during the service that is just for them! If your child needs something to do during worship, look for our busy bags at the front of the sanctuary. We also have nursery care available for kids in 2nd grade and younger.

Can I participate communion when I come here?

At Homer Congregational Church, all are welcome, and that includes at the communion table. There is NO special requirement like being a member of the church, being baptized, etc. in order to participate in communion. Communion is typically offered on the first Sunday of the month and at certain special services.

Where are the Bathrooms?

There are bathrooms located off of our fellowship room. These are multi-stall bathrooms and handicap accessible. In the back of the sanctuary there are 2 individual bathrooms located under both set of stairs leading to the balcony. Additionally there are children’s bathrooms in our nursery.

I can’t do stairs. Is your building accessible for me?

There is handicap parking available in our parking lot behind the building. One of the entrances on the back of the building has a ramp you can use to enter the building. Our main bathrooms that are located off of our fellowship room have large stalls for those who require extra space for things such as a walker or wheelchair.

The main level of our sanctuary has no stairs that need to be maneuvered to access it. Our sanctuary includes pews along the outside walls for those who find it more accessible to not have another pew in front of them. We also have two shorten pews in the center sections of our sanctuary to allow for a wheelchair user to sit next to those in the pews or provide extra space for other assistive devices such as a walker.

Our elevator can be used to access the basement and our second floor which has faith formation classrooms and offices.
